1 Who We Are
MavYa is a food label scanning application developed and operated by AI Solution For You, a UK-based AI software company. We are the data controller for all personal data collected through the MavYa app.
By using MavYa, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
2 Information We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the MavYa service:

3 How We Use Your Information
We use the data we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the MavYa application
- Authenticate your account securely via Google Sign-In
- Sync your household profiles and scan history across sessions
- Send expiry date push notifications you have explicitly set
- Generate AI-powered ingredient analysis and health scores
- Suggest healthier product alternatives relevant to your profiles
- Monitor and improve app performance and user experience
- Enforce usage limits and prevent abuse (rate limiting)
4 Data Storage & Security
Your account data, household profiles, and scan history are stored securely in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore), hosted in the EU region. We apply industry-standard security practices:
- All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2+
- All data is encrypted at rest by Firebase's default encryption
- Access is restricted to authenticated users via Firestore Security Rules
- Captured food label images are processed in memory only — never written to permanent storage
- Rate limiting is enforced to prevent abuse and data scraping
5 Third-Party Services
MavYa uses the following trusted third-party services. Each has their own privacy policy:
- Google Firebase — Authentication, database, and push notifications (Privacy Policy)
- Google Sign-In — Secure user authentication (Privacy Policy)
- Google Gemini AI — Ingredient analysis and label reading (Terms)
- Google Analytics — Anonymous usage metrics
- Meta (Facebook) Pixel — Anonymous advertising measurement to improve how we reach new users (no personal data is shared)
- Open Food Facts — Open product database for nutritional reference data
None of these third parties have access to your household profiles, scan history, or captured images.
6 Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account:
- All profile preferences are permanently deleted within 7 days
- Your scan history is permanently deleted within 7 days
- Anonymised aggregate analytics are retained (no personal identifiers)
- Google Sign-In association is revoked immediately
7 Your Rights
Under UK GDPR and applicable data protection law, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification — correct any inaccurate data
- Erasure — request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Restriction — request we limit processing of your data
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
You can delete individual scans or your entire scan history directly within the app (Settings → Delete Account). For all other requests, contact us using the details below.
8 Children's Privacy
MavYa is designed to help families make better food choices. The app itself is intended for use by adults (18+) on behalf of their household, including children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 directly. Household profile data (such as a child's allergen profile) is entered and managed by the responsible adult account holder.
If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, please contact us immediately at admin@aisolutionforyou.com and we will delete it promptly.
9 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. We will notify you of any significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
Continued use of MavYa after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
